One of North America’s Top 10 Chocolatiers Joins the Feast!

After building a prestigious background as a savory chef, Chris Kollar eventually shifted the trajectory of his career through channeling inspiration from classic European chocolate into his own unique style of chocolate creations. After working in kitchens all over the world, he settled in the Napa Valley in 2001 running the kitchen at several wineries and restaurants before landing at Peter Michael Winery as the Executive Chef, where his passion for chocolates blossomed. The methodical techniques Chris developed in the kitchens would help support bringing the emotional and artistic inspirations in his chocolates to life.

There are several chocolatiers in the Napa Valley, but none more critically lauded than Kollar Chocolates. The unique flavor combinations and artistic detail of each chocolate detail lend themselves to the Napa Valley gourmet experience. The attentive detail to all aspects of the chocolate-making contrast the emotional aspects of designing new flavors. Chris applies environmentally respectful practices by using recyclable packaging as well as fair trade and local seasonal ingredients when possible.

In the heart of Yountville, Kollar Chocolates is open to the public where guests are invited to sneak a peek at how make they their chocolates as well as browse through display case, where each chocolate truffle appears as edible art pieces. Chris’s ability to channel his passion, creativity, commitment, and discipline resulted in his selection as one of the Top 10 Chocolatiers of North America by Dessert Professional Magazine. In addition to visually appealing, classic chocolate truffles, additional unique include flavors such as: Early Grey, Red Wine, Fennel Pollen, Espelette Chili, and Sunflower Seed. There is also an array of packaging and formats, with the Feast it Forward staff favorite being their limited “sushi” chocolates, which you have to see to believe. Each detail one would find in a sushi roll has been recreated in dessert form.
